I spent all day Saturday campaigning for Hillary in Reno, so it was nice to have a Sunday to relax and get life back in order again. Sunday was the start of Rosh Hashanah - the Jewish new year! I celebrated by attempting to bake something with apples and honey - traditional flavors for the holiday - but it ended up being kind of a gluten free gluey baked good. Not as good as last year’s apples and honey breakfast masterpiece. I also celebrated by attending a dinner where the food was much more spot on than my recipe fail!
I swung by Whole Foods to grab groceries for the week. I’m trying to keep weekly groceries between $50-60 for me, but I ended up spending about $68. Probably because I bought honey for the holiday and those such pretty hydrangeas!
On the menu this week:
Breakfast: Bananas with oats or toast or eggs
Lunch: kale salad with lemon/olive oil dressing, japanese sweet potatoes, hard boiled eggs
Dinner: paleo chipotle chili. mix of ground beef/turkey, and chock full of vegetables - peppers, collard greens, sweet potatoes, onions, tomatoes. served with avocado and plaintain chips
Snacks: Larabars, Rxbars, pears and nut butter
Dessert: these pumpkin bars
What’s on the menu for you this week? Anything I should try for next week?

What a beautiful haul of goodies! I have chili, salmon and pumpkin pasta on the menu this week.

Pumpkin pasta?! Curious how that will turn out!
Yum! I always love a good grocery haul! Do you eat the same dinner each night typically? Ive been loving chickpea “tuna” salad, bbq cauliflower wings, and potatoes with eggs!

Ooooh BBQ cauliflower wings!
I change it up between lunch/dinner, but I am such a creature of habit I’m usually fine eating the same thing every day - at least for a week.
Your meal plan for this week sounds so good!
I love love love hydrangeas and those are such a pretty colour! <3
