Hi, and welcome to Dani California Cooks! I’m Dani, and I’m the 26-year-old California (usually healthy) foodie who started this blog to share my love of food, healthy eating, and everything in between. I cook fresh, easy recipes and try to stay as active as possible as a management consultant!
I’ll just say it now - I love food, healthy eating, sweets, cooking, nutrition science, food writing, dining out, dining in, talking about food, food politics, thinking about food, exploring food cultures, feeding people, taste testing, the works. However, food has been a double-edged sword for me, as I have battled with disordered eating over the years alongside several autoimmune issues, including Rheumatoid Arthritis. When I started learning first-hand about the power of nutrition on my overall wellness, it totally has changed the way I look at food and my life, and has become my real passion. Hence, Dani California Cooks!
A little more about me! I was born and raised in Santa Monica, and currently live in the heart of San Francisco. I left the west coast to attend Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, where I received a degree in Public Health and Women’s Studies. I lived in Washington DC for several years, but have since relocated back westward! Since graduation, my career has been in management consulting where I only rarely get to talk about my love of food. That, and teaching Spinning at Core40 - takes up most of my time!
I look forward to sharing all of the bites of my life around California with you all.
Let’s keep in touch! I love Instagram and Pinterest.
Also, I love hearing from all the readers out there – please feel free to e-mail me at [email protected]!
