When I first moved to the Bay Area, I was immediately in awe with how it was absolutely PULSING with cool new companies, ideas, and products. The whole phrase of “oh, there’s an app for that” took on an entirely new meaning. Truly.
And coupled with the fact that San Francisco is THE city for food right now? Well, it’s no surprise that innovation and entrepreneurship spilled over into the realm of good eats. One of which creations I am excited to spread the world to you today - Sprig.
And as a disclaimer - I was not compensated for my time! I was just excited to spread the word to you all.
There are a lot of food delivery and meal delivery services out there, but Sprig is different. I feel like the word “takeout” is synonymous with “pizza” or “greasy Thai food” that usually takes 45-60 minutes to deliver. Sprig does a 180 to that. Every day, Sprig prepares 3-5 healthy meal choices throughout the day, and you order one from their app and it’s delivered to you within minutes. It’s like a combination of ordering take out and Uber, and the best thing about it is that the meals are healthy, organic, local, and seasonal! Granted, you have only 3-5 options to choose from, but do you really need more than that? Check out the crazy delicious options for dinner this past Sunday:
I reached out to Sprig because I was so excited about what they are doing and wanted to promote it on DCC. I spend a lot of time writing on the blog about how working women can maintain healthy habits and diets, but that doesn’t mean spending a lot of time in the kitchen. And as much as I promote cooking and preparing my own food, it’s sometimes easier said than done. So I really appreciate when I learn about companies like Sprig which makes it easy and cost-effective for me so balance everything in my life.
For someone who really cares about eating healthy and organic for 90% of my meals, I can pinpoint several situations in which Sprig is really going to fill a need for me, like when I’m stuck in the office with back-to-back meetings and don’t have time to pick up lunch Or when I return home from vacation or traveling from work and have nothing in my fridge, but also don’t want to go get groceries and cook dinner.
If you live in the San Francisco, Palo Alto, or Chicago area (Sprig’s only locations thus far), they provided a $15 to all DCC readers for their first meal with the code DANICALIFORNIA15. Most of the meals cost less than that too!
