Hello from windy Spokane! We are currently having winds reach about 70 mph up here, and a lot of places have lost power and tons of trees have fallen over and blocked traffic. I had trouble walking to my car this afternoon! Still managed to snap some pix of my food so linking up for today’s What I Ate Wednesday.
But it’s a good thing it’s not super nice and sunny out because I’m working like a madwoman to try and get EVERYTHING I need done before I shut my work computer and totally unplug for the Thanksgiving week. I’m taking vacation starting 5pm on Friday night through the following Sunday! I haven’t taken this much time off since March, and I cannot WAIT. We will be on the farm for a large chunk of the week, where I get zero cell reception. I do get wifi, so expect lots of Instagrams of me chasing around the chickens.
Also - in case you missed yesterday’s post on my lunch at the Facebook campus - definitely check it out! No such thing as a #saddesklunch if you work there…
BREAKFAST
Work started early, so I grabbed an omelet and fruit from the hotel before heading straight to the client site.
After a bit of time, I took a much needed coffee break. On Monday when I drove through Starbucks, the barista said that the car in front of me had already paid for my drink. He then asked what I wanted to do and I said of course I will pay for the next car’s drink! It put a huge smile on my face - the whole thing. Gotta hand it to Starbucks. I was feeling loyal to the brand today so I went back there for my morning coffee.
LUNCH
We had approximately 5 minutes to eat lunch so we scarfed half of our lunch before the meeting, and then half of it afterwards. Unfortunately we were too crazed and I forgot to take a picture - but it was the same salad I had on Monday, except this time with ahi tuna and no avocado. I also shoveled a couple of bites of sauerkraut.
SNACK
I had an apple and some PB before leaving the client site, and I was all set to go to hot yoga but there was a sign on the door saying it was closed due to the weather! At that point, I knew that I should just go back to the hotel and call it a night - my whole car was shaking and it really didn’t feel safe on the roads. I picked up some salmon from Anthony’s and went to the hotel gym.
I had to take this gym selfie because BICEPS!! I am feeling so proud of that little muscle poking through. Focusing on strength training over the past couple of months has really started to pay off! These weeks, I’ve been doing two days of strength (pilates, BodyPump, free weights circuits), two days of cardio (usually Spinning, sometimes running) and then a day dedicated for yoga. And two full rest days, per my fitness/nutritionist consultations. Yesterday I did this leg workout, plus 30 minutes of walking on the treadmill while I read Glamour magazine.
DINNER
Grilled wild Alaska king salmon with green beans was eaten from bed in my satin tiger pajamas. It was lukewarm at this point but still tasted satisfying.
DESSERT
Two squares of this dark chocolate, plus some tea. I don’t think I’ll be buying this chocolate again - as dumb as this sounds, it’s not as rich chocolatey as I’d like.
And I watched the news and the Voice while doing a bunch of work!

Everything you ate looks just delicious! And yay for the gym selfie - it’s always great to see results! You look amazing 🙂

Super busy day for you! Eating food quickly is one of my specialties (lol), but 5 minutes? Geez, that’s a push. At least all of your eats were delicious!
I prefer to have more leisurely meals so this was unusual for me!

Good for you for taking a chunk of vacation time. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it almost as much as I am loving on your lunch time salad.
Gotta love the goodness of strangers.
Happy WIAW and thanks for linking up.

The lunch time salad was excellent!! Thanks for hosting the link up 🙂
Wow, that wind sounds kind of scary! I hope everyone is okay and it calms down soon.
And that’s too funny about the car in front of you paying for your coffee. I love that! Pay it forward! I wonder if there will be some random a-hole that breaks the chain, lol.

I wondered that too! If there would be one person who wouldn’t want to pay it forward.
the drive-thru difference!
Do you enjoy staying in hotels? I absolutely love it, but I don’t do it nearly as often as you.
I’m into the voice this season. Jordan & Madi are my favs!

I still love staying in fancy hotels, but we stay at pretty basic Doubletrees most of the time which aren’t all that luxurious. I love the fresh towels and sheets that they have every day though!!
Eating dinner in pajamas sounds pretty good to me. And love that chain of kindness you had going on Starbucks… small things like that can really make my day.

Get it girl! So awesome! I’m a huge fan of strength training so if you ever need any ideas for some new moves, let me know! You look awesome and I want all of your food <3 And paying it forward… I might have to do that next time I'm at Starbucks. 😉

I went to your blog looking for an upper body workout the other day!!
Wait, my question is… how does the person in front of you know what to buy? Do they just give Starbucks a 5 and they keep the change??

That was so kind of someone to pay for your drink! And you were so kind to pass that on! That would have had me smiling all day! I must do this one day… I keep saying I will and never do!
