I have always wanted to join Heather’s Friday Favorites link up, and today is the day! January has been wild with work, travel, and our impending move, and I have a lot of favorites that have been around for the ride that I wanted to share with you all.
- Evo bars - these guys are like Larabars but often around 20g LESS in sugar. They also are packed with protein and healthy fats from hemp seeds, nuts, and hemp protein powder, and have an absurdly small list of ingredients. http://
- My new doctors in San Francisco - throughout college and my years in DC, I would still only make doctor’s appointments when I came back to visit my parents in Santa Monica. I’ve recently found a couple of doctors in SF that I absolutely love, and I’m so grateful that it was super easy to find them! I used Yelp! and also searched through my insurance provider.
- Backpacks - I have officially retired my nice Tumi work bag and went back to a classic one-pocket Jansport dorky elementary school backpack. It’s totally normal in San Francisco to wear ripped jeans, a t-shirt, and carry a backpack to work, and I’ve totally been breaking my back lugging around my shoulder bag across all of the airports I travel to every week. I may look like a little kid but I’m loving the backpack again!
- Spotify’s dancePOP playlist in their EDM/Dance section - where I find all of the best songs that I play in my Spinning classes! Highly recommend for a workout playlist.
- GT’s Tumeric, Carrot, and Ginger Kombucha - rediscovered my love for this flavor and I’m not going back!
- Preparing for a February Whole30 - Nate and I have seriously discussed doing a Whole30 in February, and whether we decide to do it or just cut out sugar/alcohol, I’ve loved reading the Whole30 Cookbook, scouring other bloggers for recipe ideas, and thinking about all of the delicious things we’re going to cook and share.
- Enjoying “basic” meals - whether it be eggs and fruit for breakfast, or roasted veggies and fish for dinner, I’ve really been loving just going back to classics with food. As much as I enjoy every food trend or exotic and complicated dinners out, sometimes there is nothing better than a tuna melt and that’s what a lot of January has been like as we clean out our current apartment and start fresh in the new one.
Happy weekend, everyone! See you next week!

I love using my travel “per diem” money to try new stuff from the grocery store!
Hahah I totally wear a backpack to work every day - better for my back and shoulders. I do feel like kid, too 😛
